Representative to the United Nations (UN) and Coordinator of the UN Ecumenical Office in New York. Major roles: advocacy, diplomacy, negotiations and relations with major players in the UN system, Member States, civil society organizations and ecumenical and interfaith networks. Facilitate the advocacy role of ecumenical organizations and religious leaders on issues pertaining to peace and security, gender equality, economic and ecological justice, human rights and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, as well as the organization of high-level events with UN and Member States at the UN General Secretariat. Represent WCC in UN advisory bodies (UN Office on Genocide Prevention and Responsibility to Protect, UN Women, UNFPA, UNICEF) and UN Working Groups (Security Council, Israel-Palestine, Syria, Latin America). Member of the Steering Committee of the World Bank Initiative “Moral Imperative to End Extreme Poverty by 2030”.

Major roles: lead, plan, organize, manage and direct the overall activities of the Department for World Service and the global coordination of humanitarian, development and advocacy operations to ensure high quality and accountable country programs. Team leader of the Global Humanitarian Emergency Team and responsible for negotiations of operational partnership with appropriate stakeholders (church-related agencies, governments and UN system). Establishment and maintenance of appropriate management system and tools for quality assurance, learning and accountability; Networking and partnership with both national and international organizations, civil society networks, UN and governments for the fulfillment of programs goals. Major roles: overall supervision and project and program monitoring through delegated responsibility to the Global Program Coordinator. To ensure the study of social and economic injustice and human rights issues mandated to the department as they pertain to humanitarian aid and development, as well as to maintain the capacity for the department's involvement in resettlement, maintains emergency preparedness and response in coordination with local churches, church-related agencies, the ACT Alliance and other relevant international ecumenical organizations. To foster cooperation with other partner organizations on a global basis such as ecumenical, UN specialized agencies, governments and non-governmental agencies to serve as an international Lutheran agency recognized by relevant UN relief- and development agencies.

Coordinate and facilitate with relevant stakeholders the debate on sustainable development and environment (SD&E); Participate in UN discussions and other international forums and bring local demands and initiatives into the global debate, and vice-versa; Develop practical tools for SD&E; Oversight of LWF/DWS programs in Latin America/Caribbean and Asia; Represent LWF in UNCTAD policy development working group.

Major roles: strategic planning and oversight of program and project implementation in areas of humanitarian response, sustainable development and advocacy; Maintain coordination, cooperation and partnership with churches, ecumenical organizations, civil society organizations, governmental authorities, LWF related agencies and UN organizations; Coordinate and implement various emergency response interventions in the region, including emergency contingency and disaster-risk reduction plans; Responsible for efficient financial management of programs in accordance with LWF policies, guidelines, systems and procedures; Fundraising at local and international levels; Coordinate inter-institutional networks and mediate conflicting situations.

Major roles: planning, monitoring and evaluation of development projects; Oversee planning and fundraising for development programs at national level; Develop policy and participatory methods and tools for community development; Conduct feasibility studies of development project proposals; Analyze design, policy and financial proposals from civil society organizations and popular movements, and make recommendations based on this analysis to the Project Commission; Organize and oversee training workshops and seminars on development and advocacy; Monitor and evaluate development projects in the field of environment, agriculture, education, indigenous people, agrarian reform, children, health, IDPs, ecumenical issues, etc.; Maintain cooperation and relationship with governmental bodies, NGOs and civil society networks and platforms.
