• The Lactalis Port Elizabeth plant has a current capacity up to 750kl per day, increasing to 1000kl at peak season end of this year. This due to capacity building projects currently in progress. Factory 1: Plant has multiple Tetra aseptic filling machines including TBA A3 Flex, TBA 8 Slim and Combibloc CFA 312 and CFA 812. Utilizing Tetra Flex Sterilizers (indirect steam injection), VTIS sterilizer (direct steam injection) and a JBT Stork Sterilizer. UHT products include milk, Custard and Soft serve. Factory 2: Produce the market leading flavoured milk drink in South Africa with capacity up to 80kl per day. Factory 3: Producing Drinking yogurt, fruit dairy blends, fresh cream and cultured milk with a capacity up to 100kl per day. Due to continuous improvement on labour and efficiency total staff compliment does not exceed 300 with various automation project implemented in recent times. • Managed direction and planning for plant with focus on optimization of daily functions, achieving stake holder expectations and achieving KPIs such as sec/kg, labour optimization, consumer complaints, reducing non quality cost, and achieving processing cost targets.• Directed employees and related programs to maximize team productivity and facility output. • Be the line between the dairy farmer and the factory.• Advise farmer on how to correct quality deviations to be at acceptable levels for the factory e.g. Somatic cell count, bacteria plate count, butter fat% and protein %. Manage the fleet of milk tankers and driver to collect the milk on a daily basis with specific focus on cost per litre collected.• Visit farmers on a regular basis to maintain good relationships.• Milk price calculations and milk management in high and low volume seasons.
