Since January 2024, I work in partnership with Dirk Naudé as Perold Naudé Architects. We combine in excess of thirty years of experience in architectural practice, building on my work in sole practice and Dirk's experience at a number of architectural practices throughout South Africa.

Since commencing my doctoral studies at Hasselt University in 2014, I have been affiliated with their ArcK Research Group. At present, I co-supervise the doctoral research of a South African researcher at Hasselt University, relating to the home-making experiences of cross-border displaced mothers in Cape Town.

In my role as Guest Lecturer in the Faculty of Architecture and Art, I performed the following roles while on sabbatical leave from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology:Subject lecturer for Design Studio 1 and research supervisor for Urban Design 4.I have also commenced with an ongoing role as Internationalisation and exchange programmes coordinator between Hasselt University and the Cape Peninsula University of Technology.During this period I developed a research proposal for doctoral research in order to obtain funding for a joint doctoral degree, which was subsequently awarded by the Flemish Government.

As Lecturer in the Department of Architectural Technology and Interior Design, I have performed the role of subject lecturer for the following subjects:History and Appreciation of Architecture 1, Construction and Detailing 1, Principles of Architectural Design 3, Construction and Detailing 4, Theory of Design 4.

As sole practitioner at my architectural practice, Rudolf Perold Architect Urbanist, I have experience of architectural practice from project inception through to design development and construction management, for both additions and alterations and new-build projects.

In my role as Professional Architect, I produced construction documentation and facilitated contract management on new-build residential projects.

In my role as Professional Architect, I assisted with concept design for mixed-use projects as well as urban design presentations for the Cape Town Stadium in a joint venture team lead by Comrie Wilkinson Architects.

In my role in Assistant Studio Master in the School of Architecture, Planning and Geomatics, I taught Technology 1 together with the subject coordinator.

In my role as Professional Architect, I assisted with research, public participation processes and urban design presentation for the Salt River Market Urban Design Framework; as well as concept design and presentations for mixed use, commercial and housing projects.

As a Candidate Architect, I engaged in concept design through to construction documentation for the Selosesha Public Library (awarded SAIA National Merit Award in 2010); and assisted with concept design through to construction supervision of the University of the Free State campus pedestrianisation interventions.

As Candidate Architect, I assisted with concept presentation and construction documentation of mixed use commercial and housing projects; as well as the concept design and presentation for the Jenevermuseum refurbishment.

As a temporary staff member, I assisted with landscaping presentation, construction documentation and drawing coordination on commercial and transport infrastructure projects.

As Candidate Architect, I engaged in concept design through to construction documentation for residential and turnkey commercial projects.
