Core Athletic
• Co-founded, led and sold Core Athletic, a 3000-square-foot sport performance, personal training and group exercise studio in Middleton, Wisconsin, that grew from zero to over a half million dollars per year in sales in only four years.• Recruited, trained and inspired a staff of seventeen employees.• Directed all recruiting and hiring efforts including the creation of an innovative group audition format that required participants to display job-specific skills in real time.• Led CORE ATHLETIC’s internship program that prepared college students and young personal trainers to be successful professionals. Duties included presenting to college classes, recruiting on college campuses, interviewing, developing curriculum, and teaching on subjects like physiology, evaluation, programming, exercise technique and professionalism. CORE ATHLETIC interns have gone on to own their own health club facilities, become Division 1 strength & conditioning coaches and become successful physical therapists• Oversaw an athletic performance program that has seen over 105 athletes go on to play in college since 2007, including over 50 who have gone Division 1• Conducted strength & conditioning seminars for athletes, parents, and coaches• Oversaw all marketing efforts including managing website, writing all copy and producing videos• Assisted in the development of CORE’s customized programming software, COREXCEL• Supervised a staff of eight personal trainers, eight class instructors and one business manager• Assisted in the development of the first Midwest climate-specific personal training system• Personally trained active adults, professional athletes, and school-aged athletes• Developed strategic partnerships with area health professionals including chiropractors, physical therapists, massage therapists, nutritionists and retail stores.
