My job is to help your voice and argument come through as clearly as possible, and to help readers easily find what they are looking for.I specialize in indexing and copyediting scholarly work across the social sciences. I also copyedit and index cookbooks. My own academic background is highly interdisciplinary (gender and religion, religion in the Americas), and as a librarian, I worked across the social sciences. My subject expertise is, therefore, broader than most. I copyedit and index scholarly books in political science, international relations, gender studies, Native American studies, Black studies, religion, business, leadership, communication studies, library and information sciences, environmental studies, American studies,education, and history. I specialize in interdisciplinary works– particularly the intersections of these subjects.

I edit, proofread, and index scholarly and trade non-fiction across the social sciences. I work with books, journal articles, white papers, and dissertations. I have worked with authors publishing with Peter Lang, The University of Toronto Press, Cornell University Press, NYU Press, U of Mass Press, Cambridge University Press, The University of Utah Press, and Lexington Press, as well as direct work for Sage Publishing, Scott Foresman, netLibrary, and Taylor & Francis. I am a UC Berkeley-trained indexer, and am experienced in creating embedded indexes as well as standard back-of-book indexes.I am expert in Chicago Manual of Style and APA, and am comfortable with a wide variety of other style guides. I also enjoy styling references.
