Performed research on relevant methods for tree-crown extractions using remote sensing and geospatial techniques, analyzed and presented top-three widely used methods by researchers and professionals.Developed annotated datasets used for tree-crown extraction/ detection task.Developed a workflow for individual tree-top identification and extraction of their corresponding crowns from Aerial Imageries and surface models (DTM, DEM) using the Deep Forest Framework built on the back of the one-stage object detector—RetinaNet. Model accuracy reached an IoU Score ~93%, Recall ~91%, Precision~71%. This was integrated into the ReForester platform for Biomass estimation in Borneo, Indonesia, which received the XPRIZE Rain Forest Award.Provided technical project documentation and experiment reproducibility workflow for the remote sensing expertsTools and platforms used: ForestTools, DeepForest, Scikit-image, Rasterio, GeoPandas, Fiona, and QGIS. Prepared the statistical analysis of climate (temperature and precipitation) and vegetation data from 1975 to 2020 including LOESS regression and correlation analysis, trend testing methods (Mann Kendall and Sen’s Slope), and anomaly detection across 8 Nigerian cities (submitted for publication – currently under review).Performed literature review and scientific presentation of findings on topics including Land Cover Evolution, Watershed modelling, and Climate variability. Online Youth Exchange, an initiative that connects young environmental scientists, students, advocates and enthusiasts to resources, growth platforms, key personnel and training to build key skills and mindsets necessary to lead change in the climate change arena. Served as a mentor to 10 young environmental professionals to help them implement their environmental sustainability projects in an efficient way.

Served in an international community of ocean lovers and sustainability advocates as an ambassador of the council in Nigeria, where I organized several e-conferences to train people on the use of the Plastic Pollution Lesson Plan, which is to foster lifestyle changes and habit changes to reduce ocean plastic and unsustainable practices.

6-month internship on the use of satellite, remote sensing, Geographic Information Systems, Global Positioning Systems to provide insights for sustainable development.Led a group of 3 interns to pre-process 30-year precipitation and temperature data for modelling the groundwater evolution over the Nigerian-facing Lake Chad.Contributed to the validation of survey data of the Universal Basic Education Program (UBEC) basic education data across the 36 states of Nigeria. Developed a Malaria risk map for the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria using a Multi-criteria Decision Analysis Framework based on the Analytical Hierarchy Process.Reviewed and presented a research direction for mapping Neglected Tropical Diseases like Leptospirosis in Humans.Prepared research and literature review documents on cross-range topics including Urban Heat Islands, Drought Indices, Temperature Anomaly, and the Marketability of space data in Nigeria.Performed a series of Land Use Land Cover Classification tasks using a mix of methods for different parts of Nigeria. Provided guidance to temporal change analysis of temperature and precipitation in Abuja, Contributed to the Flood Extent Mapping of the 2018 flood in Jos, Plateau, Nigeria.
