Working as primarily a Web Publisher and Editor, I also compile the monthly e-newsletter and send it using (a subscriber database and) Campaign Monitor software, and am the main communications team contact and user of social media. I monitor our Facebook and Twitter channels and reply as and when appropriate. One of the main aspects to the role is publishing content submitted by authors to the Jadu CMS workflow in a timely manner upholding style and branding guidelines. Also assisting content authors in the use of Jadu CMS by telephone, email and face to face. Editing the site homepage and many service homepages in light of current events or campaigns. Creating online forms, testing them and working closely with the IT team particularly concerning online forms and web developments. I am the designated member of staff to update our pages on the Directgov site. Running broken link checks and making link repairs. I assist the monitoring of usage statistics using the site's Google Analytics account.

Working as an Online Manager I also undertook website content editor duties from the global HQ (London) of this very corporate, international property company. Most of the work is done through the Vignette (Open Text) VCM CMS and is on the .com and UK sites – in addition to supporting teams who work with the other countries’ websites – 26 multi-lingual sites (of which 22 use the .com site) and 11 sites in only English. Doing tests on the functioning of the site, working with the outsourced hosts and developers to manage repairs, and working as the global approver and publisher of content through the CMS submitted for all the sites; also making changes and updates myself. The other important aspects of the role being planning and managing site developments and improvements including setting up the RSS feed to populate a twitter-feed, working to get more past news items on the site and bringing about the inclusion of small flag icons on each site to increase useability.
