Provide COCOM/MAJCOM (Major Command) program management of U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) and Air Mobility Command (AMC) command-unique Command and Control (C2), In-Transit Visibility (ITV), and business systems. Plans, programs, and directs the development, acquisition, integration, and life cycle management of command-unique C2, ITV, and supporting business systems’ resources for execution of AMC’s and USTRANSCOM’s global engagement mission for peacetime, contingency, and humanitarian operations. Orchestrates C2 and ITV enterprise business strategies, facilitates business process and reporting, and represents C2 interests at AMC Chief Information Officer (CIO), and USTRANSCOM CIO panels, boards, and councils.

USAFE-AFAFRICA/A6 serves as the Air Component Communications lead to USEUCOM and USAFRICOM through employment of AF Cyberspace forces to accomplish assigned functions and tasks. USAFE-AFAFRICA/A6 advises the USAFE-AFAFRICA Commander on DoDIN and Defensive Cyber Operations activities in support of Air Force forces in Europe and Africa. USAFE-AFAFRICA/A6 fulfills C4 requirements during steady state operations, major operations, and exercises. A6 personnel serve on operational planning teams (OPT), battle staffs, etc. to support operations. The directorate is also responsible for the operational planning that occurs outside the air tasking cycle (e.g., deliberate planning). Planning can include developing OPLANs/CONPLANs/campaign plans to guide forces made available to accomplish missions assigned by the JFC. Finally, USAFE-AFAFRICA/A6 provides adversary and friendly options for cyberspace capabilities during crisis action planning or execution.

Leads a staff of 5 and is a key advisor to the Director leading 116 personnel, in USAFA's most diverse directorate. Supports 2 commands and 105 country bilateral partnerships. Oversees all executive level activities including policies, resources, travel, protocol, and manpower/personnel issues. Gatekeeper for a General Officer, two Colonels and a GS-15, provides executive support for 6 divisions run by Colonels and GS-15s.

The dynamic and evolving global security environment challenges us to perform our mission under an expeditionary concept requiring rapid, world-wide deployment. To ensure our continued success in this environment, we need a cadre of International Affairs Specialists with the insight and skills to build effective relationships with global partners. A review of the former Foreign Area Officer (FAO) program made it clear that a transformation was needed. Under the old FAO program, officers were not developed sufficiently nor managed effectively to become foreign area experts and most faced significant career progression hurdles for serving outside of their primary AFSC. The new IAS program replaces the FAO program and deliberately develops (selects, trains, assigns) officers with international affairs expertise while keeping them viable and competitive in their primary AFSC development track.

The Naval Postgraduate School is an academic institution whose emphasis is on study and research programs relevant to the Navy's interests, as well as to the interests of other arms of the Department of Defense. The programs are designed to accommodate the unique requirements of the military. Instructed 50 to 90 students each quarter on 1st and 2nd level European Portuguese, mentored cadets on language and cultural immersion programs. Instructed 30 cadets on 1st level Spanish. Assisted the international affairs office with international cadet visits. Mentored the Cadet Portuguese club.
