During this two-month period, I was deeply involved with the drawing and engineering department in the following tasks:- BIM modelling with Revit and Archicad;- Drawing of architectural plans with Revit and Archicad;- Production of detail plans (windows, doors, staircases) Revit and Archicad;- Production of formwork plans with Revit;- Production of reinforcement plans with BaCAD and AutoCAD;- Participation in building work supervision sessions;- Verification of formwork and reinforcement plans.

In this traineeship I was integrated a team dealing with seismic risk assessment within the RESURBAN institutional project. After having collected and reviewed a large number of fragility curves from the literature my contribution of decisive for the definition of a set of evaluation criteria and further application to the reviewed fragility curves. The main outcome of th work carried out will be described in detailed in a technical report about to be publish by the JRC. Moreover, an abstract was submitted and accepted for publication to the 16th World Conference on Earthquake Engineering to be held in Chile, in 2017.

University Of Aveiro

This research grant under the FCT national project titled URBSIS - Assessing Vulnerability and Managing Earthquake Risk at Urban Scale is jointly supported by the University of Aveiro and the IST Institute of the Technical University of Lisbon, and supervised by professors Romeu Vicente and Carlos S. Oliveira, respectively. The framework of this project is aligned with the goals of a Resolution of the Portuguese Parliament published in August 2010 for the adoption of measures to reduce seismic risk, promoting research in this scope, encouraging a national plan to reduce seismic vulnerability. Amongst various recommendations made, it was referred the encouragement of scientific research in the field of prevention, earthquake engineering and seismology of the national territory. This two-year project initiated in 2014 gave me a backbone knowledge on the inspection, surveying and structural analysis of traditional masonry buildings, on the development and calibration of seismic vulnerability assessment methods, post-earthquake damage assessment and management and also on the development of earthquake damage and loss estimation scenarios integrated in a GIS platform. Moreover, this scholarship allowed me to develop other relevant activities, as follows: Involvement in the writing of research project proposals, interim activity reports, as well as on the designing of posters for some academic seminars and workshops.
