Responsible for research work in the project: Self-rectifying impulse turbines for wave energy conversion. The project was supported by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (contract No. POCI/EME/59024/2004). Duties included:- develop design methods using optimization algorithms for turbomachinery;- perform mesh generation and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations;- design and carry out experimental tests of a model-scale air turbine;- dissemination of research work through reports, scientific papers and conference presentations.
