My abiding interests lie at the intersections of technology, media, culture, and business. In exploring them, I've taken seemingly unconnected paths through an eclectic mix of industries and experiences.I began the previous decade designing instructional media at an e-learning startup, eventually crafting distinctive bespoke solutions for its Fortune 50 clients in US & Europe, across industries diverse as software, logistics, finance, automotive, materials, and pharma. These experiences certainly stoked the multi-displinary design thinker in me, but also left me craving for a larger and more direct impact on the enterprise.Later in the decade, I made a dramatic shift to directly coach two incumbent SMEs in India in pursuing transformative growth through sharply-focussed, multi-year, turnkey enterprise initiatives: one in supply chain integration, the other in market disruption. One incumbent was in tech manufacturing, the other in fashion retail. One a 30-year old, promoter-led, publicly-traded company, the other a 150-year old, sixth-generation, family-run business. The two parallel yet worlds-apart experiences truly challenged the cultural change agent in me, especially during a time of 'sudden' financial crisis and its global aftermath that caught us unawares. We came through triumphant in one and lost dearly in the other. Nothing taught me more about global economics, politics, history, and the causal connections undergirding our world than this phase of my life. It was also a potent experience in the diverse range, dynamics, and limits of human performance.This decade, a tidal wave of 'smart' devices and app-driven media has brought us platforms with unprecedented global reach, fast disrupting many entrenched industries, and creating hitherto new ones. And I'm called to venture anew, this time playing closer to my heart: to create distinctive consumer media experiences, through apps and a new class of emergent devices. I'm excited by the possibilities...
