CurrentI have held an academic position at a research-intensive world class university for >15 years. My core responsibilities were:• Teaching (via seminars, lectures, practicals, workshops) • Research (molecular cell biology of muscle disease) • University administration (writing agreements, proforma’s, reports). My post involved wide scale university wide interactions and collaborations with charitable foundations (e.g Jain Foundation, Muscular Dystrophy Campaign) and industry (e.g Millipore, ECACC). I have been involved in development and implementation of departmental and university policies to teaching, research and internationalization. I have contributed to research led teaching, internationally recognized scientific research and providing academic and pastoral support to undergraduates, postgraduates and research staff. I have managed a research group. As a Prinicipal Investigator I have gained extensive experience in medical writing (publications, slide decks, oral presentations, grants, technical writing, editing, proofreading) relevant to medical communications as evidenced below. Through EMWA conferences I am developing regulatory medical writing skills. KEY ACHIEVEMENTS• Worked with a team to deliver Bronze Athena Swan award for the Biosciences department • Generated novel reagents and deposited these at an internationally recognized biobank to enhance biomedical research • Engaged with industrial partners and the university to commercialize novel research reagents • Worked with the International Office to develop and implement agreements enabling Durham Biosciences students and overseas students to participate in Erasmus and Study Abroad programs • Implemented new departmental research structures to deliver university research priorities• Participated in collaborations with charitable foundations and academia to deliver university research priorities• Designed and taught several research-led teaching modules
