• I have held an academic position at a research-intensive world class university for >15 years. My core responsibilities were:
• Teaching (via seminars, lectures, practicals, workshops)
• Research (molecular cell biology of muscle disease)
• University administration (writing agreements, proforma’s, reports). My post involved wide scale university wide interactions and collaborations with charitable foundations (e.g Jain Foundation, Muscular Dystrophy.
• Worked with a team to deliver Bronze Athena Swan award for the Biosciences department
• Generated novel reagents and deposited these at an internationally recognized biobank to enhance biomedical research

• Established Principal Investigator status and set up independent research laboratory
• Designed and taught several research-led teaching modules some with novel workshop based computational biology (bioinformatics)
• Obtained research grant funding for postgraduate students and post-doctoral researchers
• Established and participated in research collaborations with international charitable foundations and academia to deliver university research priorities
• Published primary research papers in internationally recognized journals
• Communicated research findings at national and international meetings
