Responsible for Storage and Virtualisation infrastructure including :-Cloud infrastructureStorageBackupsServer Virtualisation

• Global IT Infrastructure operations management for over 300 locations consulting with stakeholders and managing the assets enabling the business to be fit for purpose and meet client demand. • Management of multi million £ contract and multiple service contracts of varying levels ensuring performance met the agreed SLA’s through monitoring, reporting and taking action where required to ensure the contract is retained year on year.• Create strategy and standards for the global business as part of the senior management team driving a consistent vision for the organisation to achieve a turnover of £15mil and 10% cost reductions.• Managing a global technical team of over 40 staff delivering services compliant with ITSM principles leading to improve reliability by 40%.• Development and mentoring of staff to build their careers and a team culture improving client services and employee retention.• Oversee technical experts to create enterprise solutions to meet business and clients requirements, which have led to savings of between 12-15%.• Managing a multi-million pounds budget for IT operations and Resources identifying where to invest to maximise return which has led to client satisfaction ratings of over 90%.• Management of 5 Petabytes storage with 40 staff ensuring daily operations function and delivery meets client and business SLA’s.• Implementing standardised storage technologies, establishing organisational standards resulting in implementation of EMC Avamar for remote backup, EMC as storage partner and continue to develop further standards improved back up reliability and safeguarding business data in line with regulations.Responsible for managing the Storage and Data Protection for a global account.

• Manage technology and infrastructure development and IT operational activities involving 20 staff ensuring standards are in line with client expectations and business goals are achieved.• Manage a team of 20 to introduce, maintain and execute server virtualisation by introducing VMware in Alstom UK and now a global standard with over 70% virtualisation ratio overall. • Manage a team of 4 of technical experts to design an Active Directory through leading the strategic team and the management of the implementation of AD 2000 in UK reducing the duplication of data.• Consult with suppliers and identify the best products and pricing whilst communicating with the sourcing team to negotiate favourable contracts with various companies saving up to 15%.• Manage the suppliers from design to completion for the Data Centre Build to secure and expand the IT services allowing more product options to be offered.• Manage the resources and ensured the data migration process between countries as part of a major consolidation programme reducing costs by 8%.

Responsible for the development and implementation of infrastructure technologies including:-• Design and implementation of Active Directory at corporate level• Server Virtualisation using VMWare- Implementation of monitoring and reporting systems• Implementation of SAN and NAS Storage • Recommendation for standardisaton of Technology products including vendors, products types.
