Moved into an architectural role since our company and team scale has gotten too large to effectively manage alone.Led our company’s successful migration from EC2 to containers using Kubernetes, Istio, Helm, EKS, Docker, etc. and successfully ran auto-scaling production workloads on Kubernetes for 3 years. Led an effort to help Empower (our parent company) Architects utilize our EKS & K8s knowledge and design to bootstrap their own K8s migration.Designed (sometimes in collaboration with Engineering) & implemented many interesting projects such as cross account bi-directional S3 replication w/ KMS, AWS API Gateway with mTLS and OAuth, DRYed and simplified our RDS CFn, S3 included CFn Maps and Conditions, imported legacy AWS resources into CFn stacks as part of an EBS and S3 encryption initiative and many more. Continuously improved our EKS based K8s design such as moving to VPC, Master node logging, Pod Level IAM, Managed Add-Ons, Managed Worker Groups (Spot and RI), etc. Wrote many READMEs and Wiki-based Design Docs, Manuals and HOW-TOs and continue to drive a culture of knowledge sharing and documentation in the team and company at large.Heavily contributed to our ansible & helm based EKS/K8s orchestration and deployment tools.Supported and acted as a quality gate for many projects/tasks by the on-shore & off-shore teams.Gave presentations and training on various DevOps, infrastructure and security topics.

I now work in Distribution Engineering at Kabam and am thrilled to be part of an amazing team of incredibly smart people. Currently I am focused on DevOps utilizing TDD, Continuous Integration, etc. I continue to further my experience with AWS, Chef, Rightscale, Jenkins, Vagrant, MongoDB, Git, etc. I am continuously making our stacks more robust, self-healing and communicate when things go awry. I'm committed to learning, improving and documenting the cool things I work on. My most recent successful project involved migrating several applications (php, java and ruby) hosted in a data center into AWS utilizing primarily Chef and Rightscale with a small team of engineers and sysadmins under a tight deadline. This had to be done with minimal downtime and had to be met with the best level of quality available while still meeting the timeline. I have also worked on Android in past projects and continue to work with ruby, scala and php from time to time.

I was originally hired as a front end programmer but worked on the full gamut from Amazon Web Services (AWS) to styling our look and feel with CSS and everything in between. Zoostores is an e-commerce company that focuses on many different product verticals. We run Magento Enterprise Edition on AWS (EC2, RDS, SES, S3, etc.) using Chef from Opscode to provision our servers. In this role I greatly expanded my knowledge of multi-tier architecture, cloud computing and linux administration. Additionally I updated my knowledge on many nuances of e-commerce such as SEO, Product Feeds, Analytics, A-B testing, Frontend performance optimization, etc.

I primarily worked on an internal adserving application using (a form of) Cake PHP and ExtJS (now known as Sencha). I also worked on the company website as well as several customer facing portal applications. The general LAMP stack with a good helping of front end web development was the order of the day for most of my tasks though I also dabbled with Flex a bit.
