Wide experience in global emergency preparedness and response planning, execution, coordination, mainly in the area of ICT. 10 plus years work-experience in Africa (Mozambique 6 years, Angola 4 years, short-term Liberia, Kenya, Ghana ++). 19 years experience at UNICEF NYHQ, from 2005 managing the emergency telecoms unit of the ICT Division, with focus on ensuring the agency's ICT preparedness and response capacity serves UNICEFs overall goals of saving children's lives globally. Wide experience in inter-agency coordination and collaboration. Various emergency response missions, incl. Liberia post-war, earthquake responses in Peru and El Salvador, Afghanistan post-invasion 2002 response, Haiti post-earthquake 2010, and more. Chairperson of the UNICEF NYHQ staff association and Vice-Chair of the UNICEF Global Staff Association (GSA), serving the interests of some 1100 colleagues at NYHQ, and 12000 staff globally, 01/2016 - 04/2018.
