The BOLD Women's Leadership Network is a pioneering program cultivating courageous leadership in young women during the college years and beyond. BOLD focuses on facilitating opportunities for women’s career development and networking through scholarship funding, programming, and post-graduation fellowships. Ultimately, the program will empower young college women to become leaders in their life and careers after college.A BOLD LegacyFunded and supported by The Helen Gurley Foundation, the BOLD Network was established in the spirit and legacy of Helen Gurley Brown, legendary editor-in-chief of Cosmopolitan Magazine. A trailblazer, instigator and staunch feminist, Helen was unapologetically herself and believed that every girl, every woman should have the space to do the same while pursuing an education, building a career and achieving her life's ambitions. BOLD SCHOLARSBOLD Scholars are students who are female or identify as women. Selected their sophomore year to participate their junior and senior years, these students possess exceptional leadership abilities, critical thinking skills, and the willingness to become agents of change in their campus community and after graduation. BOLD is committed to supporting young women from all backgrounds and especially those who have been significantly underrepresented in higher education in terms of socioeconomic class, race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, citizenship and ability.PARTNERSThe BOLD Women's Leadership Network operates at six institutions of higher education: Colby-Sawyer College, The College of Saint Rose, Ithaca College, Middlebury College, Rutgers University—Newark, and the University of Connecticut. Each partner institution is led by a woman president at the time of their selection who has demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion throughout her career and/or has significant female administrative leadership.
