Alva’s career started almost a decade ago by answering an ad he received in the mail for a modeling school. This school was ill-prepared for this “model in the making”. After a brief session, the program director concluded that Alva was “a natural” and encouraged him to quickly purse a modeling career with his gift for walking and posing. Happenstance gave Alva a golden opportunity- a candid meeting with the internationally recognized “Prince of the Runway”, Martin Snaric. Realizing Alva’s talent, Snaric encouraged him to tap into his hidden talents and pursue a career in coaching. Snaric’s conversation echoed in Alva’s mind and gave the transition into runway coaching the momentum it craved. Today, Alva’s expertise caught the eye of one of new york’s top ten modeling agency, New York Model Management. Alva enjoys working with both of their seasoned models and “models in the making”. Designers, producers, casting directors and fashion event coordinators call on Alva for their projects. Alva’s list of milestone continues to grow his models have appeared in various print media campaigns for such publications as Seventeen, Glamour and Cosmo Girl as well as the all important runway shows at Olympus and Mercedes -benz Fashion Week. “That’s why I do this; knowing that I help lay the foundation of success for someone is its own reward”, says Alva, a sentiment coin by his students.Specialties: studied under “Prince of the Runway”, Martin Snaric, my models have been selected for various designers showcaasing during the past three years of NY Fashion Week.
