As the practice is a Joint Venture franchise and has been open for just 6 years, we have focused on growing the business through sales and our customer base. I have a hands on position in the store where my responsibilities are moulded around helping to drive the service, sales and success of the store. My tasks are customer focused, pre testing the patients before their full examination with the optometrist, and dispensing tailor made spectacles to patients once they have been handed over after the eye exam. I am able to order contact lenses, frames and spectacle lenses through various suppliers as well as cut and glaze the spectacles with specialist lab equipment as well as perform contact lens teaching to first time contact lens wearers. The job as a whole allows me to be involved in the daily organisation of the business. From booking appointments to the NHS paperwork side of the business using the acuitus system to maintain workflow. I am able to confidently deal with patient queries and disputes. As a business we work towards sales targets and keep a close eye on KPI’s. I have made it a goal to learn as much as I can about the business, so I am seen as a responsible, and knowledgeable asset to the team.

I had the opportunity to assist in Cosmetic Dentistry, Porcelain Rehabilitation, Periodontal Surgery, RCT and Dental Implant Surgery alongside some of the UK’s leading dental professions. My duties include: admin and reception duties. Opening, setting up and closing the surgery every day. Greeting patients and checking them in, ensuring that medical histories are updated and enquiries are dealt with. Answering the phone and booking appointments. As well as taking payments. Adhering to cross-infection and health and safety protocols to the highest standard. My administrative tasks ranged from maintaining patient records to writing policies and protocols for the practice.

My duties included: reception and admin duties and supporting the dentists in all aspects of patient care and treatments such as examinations, scale and polish, xrays, invisalign, implants, crown, bridge, inlay and denture preps and fits as we ll as root canal treatment.
