In August 2015 I relocated to Leeds for just over nine months while my partner completed her masters in Leeds before returning to the Lee Wood Hotel. This position required me to be the point of contact for the guests on any given day, I was the face of the operations team. Within this position I had a lot of roles that required me to be on the floor but also had a large amount of roles that were back of house, my roles included meeting and greeting guests, the organising of staff to ensure events ran smoothly, ensuring the quality of food for conferences was met, ordering of equipment to function daily, responsible for IT equipment, including data projectors, audio and visual equipment, dealing with requests and complaints, ensuring that the highest standards are met consistently, responsible for motivating and developing the team to provide high standards of service to our guests, the setting up banquets and conference suites, meeting with guests for pre event meetings, running and overseeing of large private diners, running of events of up to 200 people such as Christmas parties, staff target setting and creating incentives and liaising with the sales team to push sales. I was also in training as hotel duty manager to do shifts that required me to ensure all other departments were running smoothly and help out if required, ensure that the building was meeting fire safety standards, dealing with complaints, looking after the hotel safes and each departments keys and being on hand to deal with any emergency, staff or guest requests. I was also on the hotels fire team.
