The Manager of Clinical Advice and Governance is tasked with ensuring that headspace National resources and advice are evidence-based, underpinned by robust clinical governance, quality and safety principles, and developed in collaboration with young people and their families and friends.This role is responsible for establishing and maintaining clinical governance, safety and support structures for headspace National youth participation programs, to facilitate program safety, and meaningful contribution in participation opportunities for young people. This role is responsible for providing up-to-date clinical information and guidance to key internal colleagues and working groups responsible for the development of relevant content. The Head of Participation & Lived Experience is responsible for the development and implementation of an ambitious vision for their portfolio that seeks to position headspace as a sector leader in driving and implementing youth and family participation and lived experience practices. The Head of Participation & Lived Experience is responsible for designing a strategy to advance participation at headspace and oversee the implementation of participation initiatives to support headspace National, including National Services and the headspace network to deliver best practice participation. The role draws upon and contributes to the existing and emerging participation evidence base in youth mental health to develop appropriate resources and systems necessary to facilitate and expand participation practices.This role leads a team of participation and project staff to drive and support participation both internal and external to the organisation. This covers four core areas: mental health, physical health, work and study support and alcohol and other drug services.The role of the Mental Health Clinician is a highly challenging and rewarding role that is integral to the headspace Adelaide team. Within this role Mental Health Clinicians undertake a number of key roles including: initial assessments to determine the needs of a young person; the orientation young people to the service; providing a welcoming and safe space; and provide individualised therapeutic and counselling intervention on a needs basis. As part of the establishing team at headspace Adelaide this role has included opportunities to provide advice and consultation on the development of policy and procedures at a new mental health service. Furthermore this experience has allowed for the development of skills associated with the establishment of a new mental health service. In addition to the role of Mental Health Clinician (Psychologist), I have undertaken voluntary roles within the headspace Adelaide team. These include the roles of Staff Well-Being Coordinator and Emergency Warden. The role of Staff Well-Being coordinator performs the following functions: development of a program of activities and events that focused on physical and mental well-being, team building and socialisation; provided monthly awareness of internal supports such as employee assistance programs; and provided consultation to management on staff well-being.The role of Emergency Warden has the following duties: being an active member of the emergency response team and participate in the development policy and procedure in partnership with other members of emergency response team.

The role of Senior Psychologist based within Disability Services' Child and Youth Service is a highly rewarding, motivating and challenging one. The role has a focus on providing direct clinical interventions to young South Australian’s who have intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum disorders and their families. In addition, the role of the Senior Psychologist is to provide a range of consultation services including: therapeutic advice to the multidisciplinary Child and Youth Services Team; policy and procedure feedback to management; and to provide consultation within an inter-agency setting (e.g., across government departments).

The role of Senior Psychologist based within Disability Services' Adult Specialist Services and Intervention Support Team (ASSIST) is a highly rewarding, motivating and challenging one. The services provided to these clients include individual therapy, psychological assessments of capacity, psychological assessments for the magistrates court of South Australia, functional behavior assessments and consultation on a variety of issues with a wide ranging audience.

The role of Provisional Psychologist with White and Associate Psychologist was Clinical Placement within the Forensic Mental Health Setting. The role of Provisional Psychologist is to conduct assessment and to participate clinical interviews for the development of psycho-legal reports in the community and correctional facility settings. In addition to this the Provisional Psychologist provide evidence-based clinical interventions for clients.

The role of Provisional Psychologist with Secure Start was a Clinical Placement working with Children and Adolescents, along with the carers and families. A Provisional Psychologist undertakes the following duties: participation in co-therapist and individual therapist delivered interventions for children and their families; and undertook formal educational assessments and generated psychological reports for a range of audiences.

The role of Provisional Psychologist at the Centre for Treatment of Anxiety and Depression was based in a Community Mental Health Centre Located within the western suburbs of Adelaide. The Provisional Psychologist carried out the following duties: undertook intake assessment interviews to develop case formulations and understand clients’ unique circumstances; and the design and implementation of therapeutic interventions.

Provided support and care for individuals who had experienced an acquired brain injury (ABI). Assisted volunteers in the provision of rehabilitation programs (Physiotherapy, speech therapy and cognitive skills development).

The role of Project Officer was located within the YWCA Youth Services team. The Project Officer's role was the establishment of an in school delivered mentoring program called "Game On". The Project Officer coordinated the Game On mentoring program for young boys which focussed on developing positive attitudes to health, mental health and interactions with the community. Other functions undertaken by the Project Officer was the development networks within schools and other agencies and the recruitment of volunteers to provide mentor support to young men in education settings.
