Appointed by the DoJ as a member of the Independent Monitoring Board for HMP Ford, an open prison based near Arundel, West Sussex. On a rota basis, we monitor the day-to-day life in the prison and ensure that proper standards of care and decency are maintained. We have unrestricted access to the prison at any time and can talk to any prisoner, governor, officer or other staff members

I joined RSM in April 2011 to create a scaleable Retail Sector group across the UK firm. After delivering on this I changed tack and for the last 5 years with the firm, I developed and delivered Partner Development programmes to over 100 partners. The programmes were targeted at those new to partnership as well as the partners considering their own Next Chapter. I personally mentored over 100 partners and other senior colleagues through this period.

I led the development of this general practice firm. During the year, I created a new senior London team, refocused the business back to client service and generated new income.

I was a BDO partner for 6 years and created a team that became recognised as experts in the retail sector. My audit clients included Specsavers, Austin Reed, The White Company, Blacks, Musto, Whittard and Zavvi.

I trained with EY and worked in Bristol, Boston and London with a focus on entrepreneurial businesses, latterly on consumer markets.I spent two years as National Head of Internal Communications working directly for the UK Managing Partner, becoming a partner in 1996 and Head of the mid-market consumer products team in 2000.
