CiSRA was the Australian R&D Centre for Canon Inc., the world's leading provider of cameras, business machines, and imaging & information technologies. World-class researchers and engineers develop image processing, computer vision and machine learning technologies realised in software and hardware. In early 2019 CiSRA ended its R&D activities and is now closed. Responsible for delivering technology R&D including: running multiple projects (budgets to ~A$3.5 million); building teams and mentoring up to 14 research and engineering staff. Also responsible for setting strategic technical directions; building relationships with project stakeholders; protection of intellectual property; and meeting release standards.* Initiated research and development projects that grew, against prevailing R&D reductions, to $3 million/year (2017-2018).* Delivered Deep Learning based technology that exceeded accuracy of the incumbent solution. * Hired new team and delivered image upscaling using novel anti-aliasing in a hardware-suitable SW implementation targeting Canon projector products. * Projects creating over 60 patents. Inventor on 4 US patents. Received Canon President IP award in Tokyo.

A full range of roles related to the development and shipping of Windows application software with various responsibilities including: team-leading, scheduling, customer liaison, requirements gathering, design, architecture, implementation, defect management, build processes and release processes.Key achievements:* Delivered (team lead) VK-64, video surveillance product (C++, Apache, fast-CGI). Re-architected data-model to reduced client-side bug finds by 70%.* Delivered (team lead) Video Presenter, novel consumer focused video editing software bundled with Canon video cameras in the Australian market.
