Typical work activities include:+• Preparing computer simulations using HYSYS and Pro-Max, assessing processes for their performance, and meeting client requirements+• Preparing Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), heat and material balances, and control schemes, line sizes+• Preparing reports, major equipment lists, sizing equipment, defining utility systems, and preparing Plant pipe line lists+• Obtaining Vendor quotes for major equipment, tabulating and recommending+• Working with I&E Engineer to prepare Safety Analysis Function Evaluation Chart (SAFE), Control Valve specifications, Relief Valve specifications, and Instrumentation specifications+• Participating in hazard and operability (HAZOP) studies and ensuring that all aspects of an operation or process meet specified regulations+• Preparing Start Up and Operation manuals for projects and participating in Plant Start Up+• Complying with the cost and time constraints of projects+• Develop an understanding of customers' technical requirements, future needs, and processes+• Help develop preliminary conceptual cost estimates and performance for options screening
