• Investigate defective, damaged, or malfunctioning components and evaluate findings to formulate repair plans and coordinate implementation of plans.• Utilize engineering source data, Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM), blueprints and consultations with OEM Engineering groups to obtain specialized technical information• Meet with OEM engineers and management on a weekly basis to help improve product quality, reduce costs, and reduce overall turn around time (TAT) for overhaul and repair programs• Review and incorporate Boeing, Douglas and customer specifications for component and assemblies to maintain Engineering Work Instructions and Bills of Material on a variety of landing gear components.• Use engineering judgement to problem solve various issues in conjunction with supporting machine shop, assembly, paint department and plating departments while conferring with quality control, material, production, and other department personnel• Prepare technical Engineering reports.• Complete special projects to reduce production errors.• Undertake major outsourcing project to reduce overall operating costs and amount of reworks• Maintain records or oversee recording of information by others to ensure engineering drawings and documents are current.
