I am a strategic and result driven Chartered Professional Accountant with 6+ years experience as CFO of publicly traded mining company on the TSX. As CFO, I worked closely with the CEO and assumed a strategic role in the management of the company. By having a strategic and operational focus, I was able to influence how we used our financial data to make informed operating and business decisions and achieve our goals. I am a roll up the sleeve type of person, and my hands-on leadership style is what allows me to gain a true understanding of a business. I have always been a believer in taking advantage of todays technology if it can improve how we operate. Overseeing the information technology function and understanding the importance of adapting a business with changing technology, I was able to make necessary investment decisions in technological infrastructure for communications and cloud-based solutions for the business. I started my career like most CPAs in a public accounting firm, but always knew that I wanted to join the industry side so I could apply my expertise and help a company grow and achieve its business goals. I entered the mining industry as a financial accounting consultant, and in a short time, I was promoted to corporate controller and then CFO over the two years at Excellon Resources Inc. During my tenure as CFO, I helped raise a total of $30 million of financings through a combination of convertible debt, royalty issuances and public and private equity placements.
