With hopes of better for us, my father prioritized two things above all else - excellent grades and athletic excellence. In 2003, I was accepted to West Point (lowest acceptance in nation in 2003), as a result of a combination of good grades and excellent wrestling achievements. I was top 10% of my graduating class academically and hold two Wrestling school records. Upon graduation, I began my 5 year service obligation as an Officer in the US Army. I was stationed at Fort Carson and deployed to Iraq. Upon return, I completed my MBA and a second master's degree online. In 2010, I was assigned to 1st Special Forces Group (SF), attended and completed Ranger School (1st time go), and was given command of a SF Support Element. Upon completion of Command, I spent a year as a Logistician supporting WW SF operations in 50+ countries.In 2014, I left the Army and went directly into sales. My first role was 100% commission selling an unknown product line into a brand new territory with little support as the company was a sole proprietorship. I believe the first year gave me the equivalent 5 years selling experience as I was my own product team, marketing, sales, admin, etc. In addition, I learned valuable lessons related to operating in 'Corporate America,' as while I had success selling, I didn't have the other tools required to work 100% commission so early.In 2015, I transitioned to software sales and exceeded quota in year 1. More importantly, MSC provided the testbed I required to learn to sell. As a non-public legacy company, AEs were given the ability to fail without the high stakes that exist at a public company. This allowed for the development of my own style and methodologies.At the end of 2016, I moved to Ansys, a market leader, and exceeded by quota 5 consecutive years with increasing quota and responsibility. I was the Global Account Manager for Boeing and Amazon before being promoted to Director of Sales and in my first year I exceeded quota as did every member of my team.In 2021, I made the move to Sprinklr.
