On this platform, I have been able to track student attendance, communicate with parents, and send out important notices.Another key platform that we use at the school is Fusion, an in-house application that allows me to distribute tasks to students, facilitate discussions through forums, and conduct self-marking quizzes and a mid-term examination. I enjoyed teaching the senior phase (grade 8-9) as they were the newbies of the school and easy to mold, but I also found value in the challenge of teaching older learners. My responsibilities included observing and evaluating students' performance, behavior, social development, and physical health, and I was appointed as a data analyst on the school's Covid-19 committee, where I captured data and conducted research to improve the health and safety of all staff and students. I also received training in virtual teaching and was responsible for facilitating training for other teachers on the use of Zoom and other virtual tools in the classroom. One of my proudest accomplishments was leading the school's debate team to the semi-finals of the Eskom debate competition, where each participant won a laptop. This experience demonstrated my ability to adapt to new challenges, teach a wide range of ages and subjects, and contribute to the health and safety of my school community, as well as my leadership and coaching skills.
