Rishi Joshi is a SDE @ AWS at Amazon Web Services (AWS). Colleagues describe them as "Rushikesh worked on a collaborative research project with my group and the group of Prof. Julie Schoenung at UC Irvine during Fall 2020. During this time, Rushikesh explored how machine learning approaches could enhance data analysis and understanding of the microstructure of certain metal alloys. He did an outstanding job in a short time and, more impressively, quickly picked up on the materials science aspects of the project while also educating other graduate students about the machine learning aspects. Rushikesh clearly demonstrated his ability to work in interdisciplinary teams and apply tools from data science to answer questions in the physical sciences.
