As a software engineer, I've been called upon to design and implement a number of diverse systems. Most recently I've designed and implemented a back-end system to manage student applications and enrolment for international and direct students; using MS CRM, MVC3.0, Oracle 11, SQL Server and Banner. I've also worked extensively on extended our Virtual Learning Environment which allows our students to collaborate with their teaching staff and colleagues via the internet.

My job was to maintain and extend the EasySite content manager software. I was involved in adding new features, extensive re-factoring, upgrading ISAPI functionality, improving database throughput and many projects to help clients import content from other CMS/Stores or provide integration between EasySite and products like Microsoft CRM and Salesforce.com.

Primarily I was involved in maintaining and extending the in-house CMS which was used to provide a knowledge base of all Dixons's computer products to the call-handlers. I also worked on a Business insurance system and a number of internal tools enabling our field engineers to get better access to product manuals and contacts.
