I teach seminars in conflict resolution, nation-building, military sociology, religion in conflict, and military history. Occasionally I direct a thesis. At the annual June Residencies I present a theme lecture. In 2013 this will be "Re-thinking Guerrilla/Asymmetrical War."

After graduating from West Point with a BS degree in Military Engineering, I entered a military career. I graduated next from Basic Infantry Officer School, Airborne School, and Ranger School. I continued with troop/instructor/duty in the 101st Airborne Division, Ft. Camp[bell, Ky; the US Army School of the Americas, Panama Canal Zone, 1960-1962; my Master of Arts at the U.; of Southern Mississippi, Advanced Infantry Officer Course, Ft. Benning, and Company Commander, 1st Airborne Brigade, 1st Air Cavalry Division, Ft. Benning and Vietnam, 1964-1966; and Instructor of Army ROTC at the University of Florida, 1966-1969.
