Biodico (formerly Biodiesel Industries) established a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with the US Navy, Naval Facilities Engineering and Expeditionary Warfare Center in 2002. The current mission of the CRADA is to demonstrate, validate and implement innovative biofuel and renewable energy technologies.at the National Environmental Technology Test Site at Naval Base Ventura County in Port Hueneme, CA. Biodico has the civilian commercialization right to technologies that are jointly developed.

Biodico was formerly known as Biodiesel Development Corporation and Biodiesel Industries. Because of the expanded interest in developing all biofuel and renewable energy technologies, the name was changed to Biodico in 2004. Biodico designs, builds, owns and operates sustainable biorefineries that produce biofuel and renewable energy. Biodico also consults with private industry and governments on projects all over the world, and its President, Russ Teall, speaks at international conferences, workshops and instructional seminars.
