Senior Chief Master-at-Arms (E-8/MACS).Navy Recruiting District HoustonAs Leading Chief for the Navy Recruiting Station in College Station, TX, I was responsible for the leadership and guidance of four senior recruiters, building tomorrow's Navy with limited manpower and funding. We prepare young future Sailors for their new careers, and screening potential applicants.• I evaluated potential candidates for service in the U.S. Navy to include legal screening, intelligence testing, medical, physical and mental abilities.• I’ve had to sharpen superior communication skills, important in dealing with potential service members and their families.• I provided direct evaluation of administrative activities to make program level recommendations for overall improvements, providing technical guidance and direction for analysis, evaluation, planning, coordination, and development of data, information, policies, regulations, procedures and requirements.• I review regulations, directives, orders and other regulatory guidance’s to determine the short and long term/range effects that they will have on the command. I also make the Director and higher chain of command aware of any issues and effects that regulatory guidance’s will have on the various business components within the command.• In this job you must have excellent speaking, listening, writing and interaction skills and abilities.• I have excellent customer and public service skills; demonstrated the ability to work with public and private agencies to obtain information and or evidence dealing with criminal cases.• I advise, counsel and instruct individuals and groups of both civilian and military personnel in all administrative matters.
