I served in the Royal Navy for over 27 years with much of my service spent in instructional and training roles including Maritime Leadership Training Officer to Naval Officer Cadets from all over the world. I am qualified to teach in the life-long learning sector.A three year period out of the military took me to the Balkans and Africa in managerial roles for civilian security, communications and procurement companies. I pride myself in my ability to lead and to get the best out of any team or individual under my guidance and to work within a team in order to get the job done.During my time in service I was involved with a private security company that specialised in music industry security and crowd control. Contracts with this company took me to Saudi Arabia, the Balkans and Europe and included tasks such as close protection and stadium security staff trainer.After leaving the military in 2017 I was employed as the Ship Security Officer of the world's only privately owned residential ship until 2023. I am security cleared, hold a National Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, have a number of STCW qualifications in my portfolio and am a quick learner who can communicate at all levels; skills that I have utilised many times over the years in a variety of training, military and business environments.
