There was only rudimentary technology, daily manual upload of an exported CSV into a web interface that provided partner reporting and a single PHP script that parsed the advertiser XML into a single template.As I am leaving a quick assessment of the technology - a fully integrated feed creation, management, distribution, tracking and reporting suite, alongside a search website production suite and parked domains system.The admin system consists of a feed management suite controlling feed creation for in house and syndication to partners. The system allows simple integration and configureation of new feeds. In addition the admin system allows auto-domain registration and delegation, feed testing, configuration control and revenue tracking. The admin system currently has integrated init, 15 feeds across 30 accounts from various 3rd party providers including Yahoo, LookSmart and Ask.The search system creates sites from a selected (>200) templates, individual or meta feeds, and allows simple AB testing of conversion metrics. The feed server boasts features as advanced as meta feed creation, advertiser de-duping, geo-targeting, click and hit limiting, quality assessment via Click Forensics integration, and intelligent destination decisions based on traffic quality.The partner reporting system has a complete white label solution and allows simple creation of ad hock reports, customisable interfaces that can be set up at the partner level in multiple currencies. The internal reporting system tracks and reports all advertising spend and revenue generated by API and scraper technology.This system has handled sustained levels of 3000 requests per seconds, spiking at over 4300 requests per second, tracked and recorded every event, and reported internally and to partners all essential metrics including imps, clicks and revenue on 27 cloud servers hosted at Amazon EC2 web services.

Search ConsultantQuotify Jul 2006 - Aug 2008I was Search consultant to Quotify at various times between 2006 and 2008. I consulted to Quotify prior to capital investment between Jan to March 2006. I consulted to Quotify, as a client of dgm, and consulted to them during July & August 2008My first consultation was to advise on site design and layout. While at dgm, we provided link building and social media optimization strategies. Most recently, Quotify were making major changes to the site structure, adding an additional layer of navigation (changing all URL's). I Advised SEO strategy during this transition, to minimize the damage to their existing organic Search Engine Ranking. The transition was implemented without loss in ranking, for any keyword phrases. Additional recommendations increased ranking of previously unranked keyword phrases. -

This included, setting SLA’s, process and protocols for technical implementation and production across PPC, rich media, and affiliate.In addition, I was tasked with the development of a SEO and Social Media Optimisation and Social Media Marketing products for the Australian marketplace, This included all sales collateral, product modules and product pricing. During my time at dgm, the Production Team grew from 6 to 11. When I left, dgm were going to market with a Solid Social Media Product. In addition, dgm had 5 clients live on the SEO product I developed. One of these was St George Bank, a campaign which dgm recieved runner up in the inaugural IAB Search award.

OwnerYmc Interactive Jul 2002 - Apr 2007YMC interactive was a SEO, SEM and affiliate marketing company.Our business model was to create technology that automated white hat and black hat SEO techniques to generate traffic to send to affiliate and contextual advertising programs.YMC interactive was a technology innovation company involving identification of strategies to achieve high rankings in the search engine results of google and other search engines. Technology was used to automate of processes of web site and page creation. Each web site and web page was optimised to rank well in the search engines for a keyword or a keyword phrase. The technology easily scaled to allow the auto-production of websites, each page ranking well for its assigned keyword or keyword phrases.This technology automated the process of domain identification, delegation and set up on the server, coupled with automatic site production, each page targeting an individual keyword phase. This system, at its peak could produce over 100 sites per day, each site containing in excess of 10,000 pages. 75% of produced pages were indexed by google.The second technology was an automated blog and ping system creating sites that were vertical or category specific RSS aggregator sites. Integrated in the site production suite was an RSS aggregator, creating pagination pages and actual content pages. In addition the sites aggregated on topic content from free article providers, alongside an auto populated blog. The use of auto-notification of all newly added content was set, utilising the auto RPC Ping at a site and page level. These sites also leveraged Digital Point Text Link Ads to automatically generate back links, and improve the depth of Google indexing of the site.These technologies were eventually sold in a private sale for an undisclosed fee.

Production ManagerDecide Interactive May 2000 - Jul 2002I was the second employee of Decide Interactive. I was hired as senior search engineer, tasked with making doorway pages for clients using Web position Gold. I remember sitting in the office till 10pm with Paul McCarney, trying to finalise the structure, format and data of the First client report for our first client – McGrath. This report was created by log file analysis – it was a long time ago. While this growth was happening, I remember a conversation with Paul McCarney, Justin Viles and I where we on the day after the concord crash, 25th July 2000. We were complaining about the lack of information in SE’s about this recent event. The outcome of this conversation was that I called the Inktomi office in Sydney. A week later, Paul and I had lunch (in The Oaks) with the sole Inktomi representative in Australia. A month later, Inktomi executives from the US came to the Decide office. Out of that meeting, Paid Inclusion (recently defunct) and Trusted Feeds were born.Over time, SEO staff grew from 2 to 7 and my job title changed to Production Manager and Technical Lead for SearchThe advent of trusted feeds allowed the business to expand into the PPC arena. This was happening when Google released Adwords, and I remember doing keyword research and ad creative for our first Adwords Client – Roses Only.By the time I left to start my own business – Decide Interactive had exceeded 25 employees running 150 SEO and PPC clients. I was responsible technical implementation of SEO and PPC for all clients, and was Account Managing 70 clients.
