Russ Collins has served as CEO of the Michigan Theater Foundation since 1982. The Michigan Theater Foundation owns two historic theaters, both fully-restored. The Michigan Theater, a 1920s era movie palace that is operated as an elegant, not-for-profit arts facility presenting and hosting a wide-variety of high quality film and live-on-stage programs. The State Theatre, a 1940s era Art Deco, cinema-style, recently renovated into a 4-screen Art House cinema. The Michigan Theater was named the Outstanding Historic Theater in North America by the League of Historic American Theaters. The State Theatre, designed by renowned architect C. Howard Crane, was named the restoration project of the year by the Ann Arbor Historic District Commission.Russ is married to Debra Polich, who is also an arts administrator. Debra is the President/C.E.O. of Artrain USA and the Ann Arbor Arts Alliance. Russ is an Ann Arbor, Michigan native who received both a Bachelors and Masters Degree (in arts administration) from the University of Michigan.
