Supporting the CSU (Commissioning Support Unit) with the development of its IM&T Services to 8 CCGs across Lancashire.Whilst work for the CSU I was Interim Functional Lead for IT having direct responsibility for: Developing the IT Detailed Service Offer to CCGs; developing and overseeing the IT transition programme; the management of transition risks and the delivery of a number of high profile projects including the re-engineering of the Business Intelligence project.

Chris was a member of a small Management Team responsible for the strategic direction and growth of the business and for operationally managing and directing the IM&T department. Key areas of his work include:Information and business intelligence provision to internal and external stakeholders and customers.Protecting the organization from Information Security Risks.Ensuring the Infrastructure and systems within the organization are fit for purpose and do not impact on our ability to deliver our customers SLA targets.Ensuring both internal and external performance targets are achieved within the department.Development and delivery of IM&T strategy and the IM&T programme.Responsibility for the management of IT contracts and procurement.Working alongside other members of management team to oversee the day to day running and growth of the organization.

Chris was employed by NHS Bolton since it was formed in 2002 and whilst there, formulated and Directed its IM&T Programme. Key areas of his work included:Engineering and delivering the organisations IM&T Strategy encapsulating both National IM&T Strategy and Local IM&T requirement.Building an IM&T department with the capability and capacity to deliver a broad portfolio of work.Developing business cases to attract investment into a broad range of projects within NHS Bolton’s IM&T Programme which Chris directed and included:Community PACS; Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence; Clinical Dashboards; GP System Migrations; Summary Care Records; Electronic Transfer of Prescriptions; COIN Network Infrastructure; Server Virtualisation; Map of Medicine; Choose and Book and Lorenzo Regional Care.In addition to delivering an integrated Programme of IT projects Chris was also responsible for:Managing an annual budget of around £3 Million.IT Service Management to ITIL standards.Technical Architecting.Information Governance.Development of IM&T Policy.Protecting Business Continuity.Working in partnership with the Information Department to help deliver their Information StrategyManagement of IT Contracts and SLAs.Enabling IT Transformation Change through the provision of Technology.

Employed by the Wigan and Bolton Health Authority, Chris held responsibility for managing the local delivery of the National ‘Information for Health’ strategy across eight Health and Social Care Organisations. Key to Chris’s role was:The development and implementation of the Local Implementation Strategy.Production of Project and Programme Plans.Development of annual IT Investment plans across all organizations.Chairing the LIS Implementation Boards.The management of Programme and project risk.Reporting progress and exceptions to key stakeholders including the Wigan and Bolton Health Authority Board.
