Russ is a 30-year veteran of the wireless industry, and senior executive in marketing, strategy, bus dev and technical leadership. He has been involved with dozens of new wireless products from chips to systems, at both public and start-up companies. Russ founded two RF semiconductor companies, Bitwave and Engim, and raised more than $65M from leading venture capitalists. Currently, Russ is working leading his product design firm, RaGE Systems LLC. He is focused on commercial, industrial, aerospace and defense products for a variety of customers. Products include 2/3/4/5G BTS and RFFE products, MMW radar systems, mobile routing, and advanced systems for defense applications. Previously, At RF Integration, Russ was working in the areas of HAPS & multi-channel wideband receivers. At Bitwave Russ raised VC funds to develop the world’s first working, software-defined radio transceiver for the mobile device industry. Prior to this, he was a VP for Global Communication Devices, the first company to develop a single-chip CMOS WLAN radio. He was Co-founder and VP of Marketing, Strategy and Business Development for Engim, a chip developer of multi-channel technology for WiFi infrastructure devices. He was VP and GM of Adaptive Broadband, delivering Broadband Wireless Access PMP infrastructure and CPE. He was responsible for the P2P equipment business at Microwave Data Systems (California Microwave). At Steinbrecher, he managed Strategy and Marketing for their Software Define Radio (SDR) technology. Russ began his career at Sanders Associates (now BAE), working in advanced systems & technology. Russ has published numerous articles and has been granted several patents in radio technology. Technology areas include Semiconductors & Systems for Cellular, WLAN, PTP & PMP microwave radios, BWA, GNSS, RFICs, Software Defined Radios, Wideband Radio Architectures, Cellular Extenders, Micro-cells, Mobile Routers, Radar, Drones, Smart Munitions.
