After graduating from Harvard Law School and passing the California State Bar in 1992, I joined the international law firm of Morrison & Foerster in San Francisco. In 1995, I co-founded Evolve Software, one of the first companies to offer Cloud-based services to businesses, and managed multiple rounds of financing culminating in an IPO on NASDAQ in 2000. I then joined PartyPoker to help with a turnaround of the business that led to a 2005 IPO valuing the business at over US$10 billion directly onto the FTSE 100. More recently, I have focused on investments in real estate, technology, the arts, film and media.In 2011, I set-up the Tiroche DeLeon Collection with Serge Tiroche. We focus on works by artists from the emerging markets in Latin America, South Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Eastern Europe. Together, Serge and I formed Art Vantage PCC Limited, perhaps the only successful and respected art fund with a track record of transparency and profitable auction sales.My film investments include backing “Crude: The Real Price of Oil,” by producer director Joe Berlinger, which documented a case in the Amazon against Chevron; and “Gibraltar My Rock,” a film about the history of Gibraltar. After reading Philosophy at the University of California, Berkeley, I worked for my local congressman, the late Robert Matsui; and then California Governor, George Deukmejian, as an Executive Fellow. Before attending Harvard Law School, I travelled extensively for a year, visiting 20+ countries in Europe, the Middle East and Asia, including teaching English in Tokyo for six months.
