The Selmon Extension is a $230 Million Dollar Design/Build which includes a 1.9-mile toll lane located in the median of Gandy Boulevard, which will allow a choice for local residents and regional travelers: use Gandy Boulevard for local destinations or use the Selmon Extension for a direct connection to the Selmon Expressway or the Gandy Bridge. This job includes three types of bridges: Segmental, Florida I-Beams and Steel Tubs.

The Southport Turning Notch Extension project will lengthen the existing deepwater turn‐around area for cargo ships from approximately 900 feet to 2,400 feet, which will allow for up to five new cargo berths. Super Post‐Panamax gantry cranes, will also be added to serve the existing Southport container berths, and the crane rails will be extended to the full length of the existing Turning Notch berth to utilize the existing cranes.This project also consists of the infrastructure upgrades to the existing Berth 31-33 which will include the additional of a new 120' crane rail, utility modifications, new switchgear building and connection to a new FPL substation.

Lake Monroe Drawbridge RehabilitationThis project is a mechanical rehabilitation of the Lake Monroe Drawbridge. Project consists of replacement of all mechanical bridge components, demolition and reconstruction of the existing tinder house and replacement of all electrical components.

SR 15 / US 17/92 - Concrete Pavement RehabThis project consists of both concrete rehabilitation and roadway reconstruction. This project also includes drainage, signalization, signage, sidewalk and cross walk improvements as well.

As district quality manager, Russel is responsible for ensuring district and project compliance to the Kiewit quality program and for developing and maintaining the district quality procedures, as required. He is also responsible for the training, development and support of the quality management staff within the district and revises district quality procedures, assigns project quality managers and requests corrective action as needed. Russel has a thorough knowledge of the districts project scopes, schedules, inspections, testing, and quality documentation requirements and serves as a liaison with external parties on matters relating to the quality program and oversees the quality performance of over $500 million of construction work for Kiewit Infrastructure South Co.

As the alternate Construction QC Manager, Russel’s duties included being on site during all construction activities if the CQC Manager is not available, communicating with the USACE on a daily basis and ensuring that the project is built in accordance with the plans and specifications. He also performed general site inspections to ensure that all BMPs and environmental controls were in place and did not require maintenance. Russel also served as Project Engineer with responsibilities that included all contract administration, maintaining the P-6 schedule, manage all cost reporting, perform financial projections, review all subcontractor change orders, review all submittals and RFIs prior to submission, facilitate subcontractor coordination and payment and run all owner progress meetings. Before these roles, Russel was the Roadway Engineer, which required tracking quantities, performing takeoffs, working with subcontractors, tracking daily cost, analyzing survey data, producing cost projections, compiling submittal data and checking quantities in the field. The project involved the demolition of one mile of roadway, construction of a 1-mile bridge, and more than 9 miles of roadway rehabilitation.

SR 90 Tamiami Trail- Roles have included Quality Control, Roadway Engineer, and Contract Support Specialist. As a Quality Control representative, responsibilities include being on site during all construction activities if the CQC Manager is not available, communicating with the USACE on a daily basis and ensuring that the project is built in accordance with the plans and specifications. As the Roadway Engineer, responsibilities include tracking quantities, performing takeoffs, working with subcontractors, tracking daily cost, analyzing survey data, producing cost projections, compiling submittal data and checking quantities in the field. As the Contract Support Specialist, responsibilities include tracking, checking and compiling all project submittals. Also in charge of handling the majority of data entry into the USACE’s RMS system which includes entering test data, deficiencies, RFI’s and daily reports.
