I have served in the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program for 25 years. In my current assignment, I am assigned to oversee all aspects of submarine reactor servicing, lifting and handling, fuel security and safety including direct oversight of four other naval officers. Previously, I have been assigned to operational fast attack submarines and Submarine NR-1 where I qualified as an enlisted Engineering Officer of the Watch and Officer of the Deck, Engineering Watch Supervisor, and was in charge of Chemistry and Radiological controls and Main Propulsion division of about 10 enlisted personnel. I was selected for duty at NROTC University of Washington where I was able to get my associates in science toward a Mechanical Engineering degree. I was assigned to three NNPP training commands where I taught basic mechanical watchstanding and plant maintenance to classes of Machinist Mates and was a staff advisor for up to 60 students at a time and qualified as an Engineering Laboratory Technician.My short-term goal is to find a post-Navy career where I can utilize auditing, leadership, mentoring and problem-solving skills I developed over the last 20+ years.
