I am originally from Austin and think of the area as my home. I earned my degrees and gained my experience in this area too. I have been in the mental health field since 1999 and used my education, training, and experience to build Austin Counseling and Trauma Specialists. Now I have a group practice that reaches a wide variety of people to help them heal a wide variety of topics and issues. I am dedicated and driven to make a difference in the lives of others and the community at large by providing quality counseling, training, consultation, and education services.My person passion and experience has been mostly with trauma, victims of crime and LGBTQ+ issues. The group has a wider array of experience and specializes in trauma, PTSD, EMDR, grief and loss, LGBTQ+ and gender issues, teen issues, anxiety, depression, and much more! Each of our counselors bring their own specialty to the group which makes for a wonderful healing space with lots of variety and talent.Much of my work was with survivors of abuse, assault, trauma, and disasters focusing a lot on the LGBTQ+ and first responder communities. Now, the group practice is able to work with nearly any population and we are uniquely equipped to work with the LGBTQ+ community, survivors of abuse/assault and family trauma, first responders (police, fire, medical), and military.As the practice grows, we are better serving our community by expanding services with education to professionals through CE courses and training classes. We are also providing consultation for professionals regarding counseling cases or business development. In addition, we are expanding our relationships through collaborating with other businesses in hopes to better serve our clients.
