Having diverse experience in both professional and volunteer contexts, some strong transferable skills have been developed, which include::--Teaching/facilitating--Having diverse experiences teaching/facilitating groups and indviduals in a range of capacities across a range of age groups and socio-economic backgrounds. Being involved Toastmasters for the last five years has strengthened this area. More recently coordinating a Speechcraft group (Public Speaking Course for adults) and Youth Leadership Group (Public Speaking for teenagers).--Caring/People helping roles--Having been involved in caring/people helping roles all his adult life. Having had significant training, supervision and support through this process, he now has supervision role of others in this capacity.--Leadership--Having many Leadership roles over many years. As leadership author, John Maxwell says: "Leadership is influence". He has continued to reflect on how leadership can be more effectively. Currently holding leadership roles at work and Toastmasters. Particularly strong in the area of helping motivated people find their way through the maze and achieving group goals.--The capacity to reflect--Has a great desire to learn and reflect on how I can do things better. A student of self-help books for many years, has undertaken study with a reflective element and have found Toastmasters very helpful in continuing to reflect and implement learnings.All these skills can be used in a variety of contexts.
