Worked on a variety of projects for public and private sector clients ranging in scope from roughly $10Kto $250K – representative project experience available upon request.▪ Supervised and directed subcontractors on subsurface exploration programs, infiltration testing, andthe installation of inclinometers, piezometers, and groundwater monitoring/water supply wells.▪ Performed field and office based geomorphic slope stability/hazard evaluations.▪ Requested and performed soils laboratory testing programs and reviewed subsurface samples/logs.▪ Interpreted subsurface soil/rock and groundwater conditions and drafted cross-sections.▪ Collected, reduced, and analyzed long-term geotechnical and groundwater monitoring data.▪ Prepared technical reports describing the findings and recommendations of geologic/geotechnicalinvestigations and monitoring programs.▪ Determined infiltration rates and design recommendations from test results and municipal standards.▪ Conducted hydrogeologic reviews and reporting for projects in critical aquifer recharge areas.▪ Reviewed available mapping and pre-existing subsurface data to identify and report anticipated soil,rock, and groundwater conditions and potential geologic hazards for new project sites.▪ Served as a field representative on construction sites – i.e., “construction monitoring”.▪ Prepared proposals, scope of work documents, health and safety plans and work-orders.▪ Tracked project budgets and reviewed/approved project expenses on multiple projects simultaneously.

Worked on a multi-agency, multi-disciplinary geologic risk assessment team for the Denali National Park Road.• Utilized and helped alpha-test the Unstable Slope Management Program (USMP), a new collaborative, multi-agency deterministic geotechnical asset management system by rating over 140 geologic hazards sites along the Denali Park Road.• Investigated possible landslide failure mechanisms and geometries.• Contributed to a preliminary geohazard susceptibility model for the park.• Worked with other NPS and Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) geologists to examine both deterministic and probabilistic agency risk derived from these products. • Facilitated cooperation between the resource and maintenance divisions. • Coordinated field operations and logistics in an extremely fast-paced and logistically complex environment while working to uphold a team-oriented atmosphere.• Prepared and implemented work plans.• Utilized survey and mapping grade GPS equipment, weather stations, time-lapse photography and associated software to study and monitor active landslides.• Provided trainings and products related to geologic hazards to the interpretive division, concessionaire employees, and park partner education staff.

Developed and presented interpretive programs on the formation of Grand Canyon that utilized recent scientific evidence, explained and demonstrated the scientific method, and attempted to connect to visitors using the emotions of curiosity, awe, and wonder.

Prepared and gave lectures, taught, and assigned grades for the laboratory portion of various geosciences/geology courses from introductory to senior level.

Assisted with the furnace or CO2-laser heating, and mass spectrometer analysis of various rock samples in order to determine their radiometric ages via the 40Ar/39Ar dating method.
