As a Sr. Loan Manager I play a pivotal role in driving the growth and quality of the bank’s loan portfolio by providing strategic oversight of lending activities. I specialize in assessing credit risk, structuring, and reviewing both new and existing loan transactions, ensuring that all lending decisions are in line with our rigorous risk management standards and contribute to sustainable portfolio growth. This involves a deep analysis of financial statements, industry trends, and borrower performance to identify potential risks and recommend appropriate mitigants.I lead the development and mentorship of junior credit staff, guiding them in credit analysis, underwriting techniques, and risk assessment best practices. By providing hands-on training and advice, I help build a strong, knowledgeable team that can uphold the bank’s credit quality and service standards.As a key presenter for high-value transactions before the loan committee, I articulate the credit rationale and financial insights with clarity, addressing any potential concerns from decision-makers. I collaborate with Relationship Managers, Executive Leadership, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on risk appetite and strategic objectives, playing a central role in the approval process and execution of complex lending deals.

Overview: As the Portfolio Manager I am responsible for the underwriting and on-going portfolio management of my assigned portfolio, consisting of complex Middle Market/Private Banking relationships. I work closely with borrowers, Relationship Managers, and Senior/Executive Leadership. As the Portfolio Manager, I lead the underwriting and credit approval process, while having an active role in working with Loan Processing and Documentation teams until the loans are boarded. For on-going portfolio management, the Portfolio Manager partners with junior level Portfolio/Credit Analysts to monitor clients’ financial performance and financial condition and assess on-going covenant compliance, complete quarterly trend cards, recommend of changes in risk rating, and coordinate the renewal of credit facilities. Outside of traditional portfolio management, I underwrite from start to finish all prospect clients assigned to me, whether it is C&I or CRE, anywhere from $500M to $25MM. In this role, it is imperative to work with the Relationship Managers in understanding the prospects request and ensure that it is what the prospect needs and qualifies for prior to submission for approval.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: Other duties may be assigned• Evaluate credit proposals and business screening memos and make written credit recommendations to management.• Identify structural risks and mitigates in prospective transactions and recommend/enhance structuring of deals and covenants in line with policies and procedures.• Advise account officers on credit risk issues/terms and conditions to create a best possible deal with a goal of maximizing profit and minimizing credit cost. • Directly and independently communicate with other credit divisions to obtain necessary information/comments to support making a credit decision. Active portfolio monitoring of designated customers • Responsible for the monitoring and ongoing credit review of individual accounts through regular/ad-hoc credit review process. • Evaluate credit review applications of the designated portfolio, determine accurate ratings and make recommendations of accurate and timely ratings to management. • Conduct site visits and due diligence and attend bank/customer meetings as required. • Coordinate and communicate critical account information independently and directly to various related parties throughout the bank, business line, product groups and credit divisions. Engaged in special projects including preparing comparative corporate metrics reports, deal comparison tables, etc. Policy Compliance • Ensure compliance with external regulatory/internal policy and procedural requirements. • Participate in ad-hoc policy meetings to enhance organization wide credit risk framework.
