Mainly involved in Java development as part of an EJB 3 application with a small amount of C coding on legacy parts of the system. Working as part of the standard software team in a SCRUM environment. Extensive use of Swing and Web Services in the development of a rich text editing module. Also involved in server side coding for group accounts and associated configuration.

Java web developer working on the in house solutions for logistics clients.Using JSF2, Servlets and other J2EE technologies running on JBoss but mainly involved in the use and development of functionality to add to the company’s bespoke framework and libraries

Java developer in the Application Development Centre. Involved in the development of an internal security clearance tracking application utilising JBoss JBPM.Worked mainly with Tomcat and some JBoss, JSF2, Spring (including Webflow), JPA, Maven and Subversion.

Involved in the development of J2EE software to remotely administer subversion repositories and to provide additional security and user management functions.Extensive use of Tomcat and Apache mainly using Java Server Faces 2, PrimeFaces, HTML and style sheets. Included integration of third party open source applications and experience of using various encryption algorithms for import and validation of user data.

Developer of bespoke applications to complement the standard CODA financial software packages. During my time at Coda I worked on both Java (including Swing), C# and Transact SQL projects and on both PC and AS400 systems, utilising several databases and technologies including XML and JMS/Oracle Advanced Queuing. Java 1.4 and 5 were used along with Ant and JUnit on most projects.

Initial six month contract extended after expiry as a Designer/Developer on a government contract. Responsible for both the design and development of a key module involving extensive use of the Rational Unified Process and Model driven development. UML was used throughout both the design and development phases.The project employed several technologies but specifically Java 1.4, Swing, J2EE (Weblogic), Spring, Hibernate, XML and Oracle 10g (including XML-DB and Oracle Text).

Developer on an MOD Project using Java SE 5, Oracle 10g ADF/Swing, and the JIDE third party components initially then Eclipse Rich Client Platform (RCP) and Hibernate. Developed custom components and linked them into the ADF mapping and responsible for the architecture of the RCP/Hibernate application.

Developer – New ProjectsDeveloper on bespoke warehouse management systems written in Java using both RMI and J2EE technologies and utilising Oracle, DB2 and SQL Server databases through JDBC. Solutions were hosted on several platforms including traditional client/server systems on Windows, Unix and AS400 some using Weblogic and Websphere servers.Developed WebMethods routines for an award winning RFID system and utilising SOAP for part of the inter-component communication. Developed Vocolect voice tasks for a voice picking application and integrated them into the Java subsystem.Performed requirements capture and specification for several projects.Extensive use of Swing for warehouse operative client applications.UML used throughout.Developer – Support DepartmentResponsible for maintaining existing code.Designing, estimating and implementing change requests and functionality changes.Mentored 3 trainee Java Developers.

Managed a small development team comprising of a developer and a junior developer within the wireless communications department. Java developer on adaptive web portal applications using J2EE, XML and XSLT consisting of servlets, JSP pages and Enterprise beans. Tested on Tomcat and hosted on the Netscape application server on the Solaris platform. Designed an SMS application allowing a high throughput of messages forwarded to customers via the mobile networks.
