Russell Banks is the Managing Director of Digital Product Management at MSI, a Baldwin Group company, where he oversees the multifamily insurtech platform. After a consulting career with Ernst & Young and KPMG, Russell joined the financial software company, Intuit. After being awarded a US patent for a product innovation, he was quickly elected to their high potential leader program where he learned essential product management fundamentals and design principles. Tools that served him well in managing offerings across their tax software suite that included Tax Planner, ProConnect Tax Online and Lacerte. Over the course of 13 years, he achieved net promoter scores ranging from 45-65 as well as establishing best-in-class e-file acceptance and customer retention rates of >95%. After stepping away from his position at Intuit in 2014, Russell ventured to Houston where he led a successful exit for investors in the startup, SmartVault. While in Houston, he also worked at Waste Management where he drove double-digit growth as their digital product leader. With a strong desire to return, Russell headed back to Dallas in 2018 serving as Vice President of Product Management at RealPage where he produced overall revenue growth of 24% and policy growth of 20% in a three-year period managing their insurtech platform. In 2022, after private equity acquired RealPage, Russell accepted the role of Head of Global Product Management at Paycom, an industry leader in cloud based HCM and payroll software. While increasing revenue by >30% year-over-year, he spearheaded the expansion of operations internationally through the promotion of a self-service strategy that enabled employees to interact with their own data across desktop and mobile.Together with his wife, Sharlene, Russell is passionate about giving back to the community.
