Assistant Professor in pulmonary & critical care medicine at UCLA. My clinical and research interests center around advanced lung disease, especially COPD, and healthcare delivery to the critically ill.Prior to joining the faculty at UCLA, I completed my fellowship in pulmonary & critical care at UCLA as well as a PhD in health policy and management, I served as Chief Resident at the Washington, DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center with an appointment as a Clinical Instructor of Medicine at Georgetown University School of Medicine, and was formerly a resident physician at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital.I have trained in clinical medicine and public health, and continue to pursue opportunities to develop skills in advocacy and policy, especially in the fields of healthcare delivery improvement and healthcare finance.Specialties: Patient advocacy, organizational leadership, health policy & finance, professional development.

During my tenure, our chapter went from virtually non-existent to sponsoring over 35 events and programs, recruiting over 90 new members, procured a 500% increase in our treasury, and national recognition with the American Medical Student Associaition-Gay and Lesbian Medical Association LGBT Health Achievement Award for our work in educational programs and health advocacy for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community.
