Achievements :  Developed an agreed 3 year business strategy based on the commercial opportunities available in Russia and around the world. Stabalised management and led a smooth transition to Russian leadership Reduced global OPEX spend by US$10 million maintaining operating capabilities Reduced headcount by 12.5% in one year while maintaining operating capabilities Reduced Capital funds by US$30 million in first year and maintained a self-funding program going forward Successfully developed a facility to enable the operations to enter the oil and gas support industry by completing and bedding down a US$20 million capital program. Improved the safety performance year on year by 30%

Roles and Responsibilities : Reporting to the President Global Hard Alloy Extrusions, Alcoa Inc., this role was required to stabilize the facility during a major leadership transition and develop and implement a strategic direction which added value while reducing costs.. Achievements : Developed 4 pronged emergency turnaround strategy to halt a flawed operating direction.  Turned a large first 4 month loss to a yearly profit of the same amount. Developed a 3 year business strategy based on the commercial opportunities  Stabalised management and led a smooth transition to German leadership Reduced headcount by 16.7% in one year while maintaining operating capabilities Negotiated new major raw materials supply contracts Negotiated new labour supply contracts which allowed headcount reductions with no industrial dispute

Role and ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Country manager and the Alcoa President for Africa and the Caribbean, this position established an aluminium smelting operation in Ghana. Achievements:  Secured funds of US$20 million as start up capital for the facility in the European and African capital markets. Discharged the loan over 15 month period, and invested surplus funds. Negotiated all major raw material supply contracts with expenditures of US$180 million per annum. Negotiated sales contracts for output into Europe to a value of US$200 million per annum. Worked with the President of Ghana and members of his cabinet on energy and mining strategies for Ghana. Led a controlled shutdown of the aluminium smelting facility due to an inadequate long term power supply in the region

Role and ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Victorian Operations director was responsible for the management of the Victorian smelters and power station inter-relationship with the Victorian Government and the privatised energy markets. Also responsible for analysing the Victorian operations business model, and developing and implementing strategies to improve business performance Achievements:  Managed the largest electricity contracts in Australia, and developed a sound working relationship with the Victorian Government. Negotiated the largest gas supply contract in Victoria. Negotiated the contracts to connect a wind farm to the Portland Aluminium smelter. Appointed to Victorian Operations strategic procurement manager which was directly responsible for an annual spend in excess of A$260 million per annum. Restructured the position and moved back to an oversight role. Appointed to Victorian Operations accounting manager which was responsible for the finance functions of two aluminium smelters and a power station. Restructured the position and moved back to an oversight role. Performed due diligences on various businesses in Australia, China, Japan and Indonesia.
