Overall management of the Regional Development Australia (RDA) association including full regional development program, human resource Management, financial management etc... I was originally appointed to the RDA Sunshine Coast Committee in September 2009 and was elected Secretary. I elected to resign from the Board to take on the Executive Officer role in March 2010.As a new organisation I led the development of all the critical organisational system including putting in place the financial systems, human resources systems and governance systems. This also included developing the organisations first Business Plan and a long term strategic document “Sunshine Coast Regional Roadmap”.I managed a number of key projects for RDA Sunshine Coast including the Regional Workforce Planning Project, the SEQ Digital Work Hub project and more recently was a key collaborator in the Digital Sunshine Coast - Action Plan 2015. www.digitalsunshinecoast.com.au

- Overall management of the Regional Tourism Body and regional Convention Bureau including full regional marketing program, human resource Management, financial management etc... - Managed the company through a period of major change. This involved working with many stakeholders from the organisations members though to state government Minsters with the aim of creating a new Destination Management Organisation that takes on the responsibilities of the regional tourism body, the regional convention bureau and the local tourism bodies within the region. A major catalyst for this change was the amalgamation of the local councils of Caloundra, Maroochy, and Noosa into the larger Sunshine Coast Council. - Successful implementation of an e-commerce regional development program aimed at enabling many small tourism operators to set up computerised Property Management Systems that then allows the operator to successfully sell their inventory online. This system is linked to the Tourism Exchange Australia program (TXA) that was recently cited in the “Jackson Report” as best practice.- Managed the implementation of a regional “Digital Strategy” incorporating the launch of two new websites (as above), development & integration of a booking system & planning for the roll out of digital social marketing program. The new website has received recognition by recently will a covered web award from http://www.webaward.org/winner.asp?eid=13350, “Travel Standard of Excellence”.- Managed a complete review of the regional convention bureau including restructuring the business and the creation of a new regional board (comprising leaders in the business events sector) to oversee the Sunshine Coast Convention Bureau) for the Sunshine Coast called “Business Events Sunshine Coast” Committee.

- Overall management of Skyrail-itm’s Taronga Zoo operations including the contract for the operation & maintenance of the $20 million cableway service known as the Sky Safari & the provision of cleaning services to all of Taronga Zoo’s public & administrative areas. Skyrail-itm is the key commercial concessionaire at Taronga Zoo that works in a partnership style relationship with a public sector organisation. This role is crucial component of Taronga Zoo’s visitor services operation (1.25 million visitors per year) and involves the direct management of up to 50 staff during peak periods.- In this role I reported directly to Managing Director of Skyrail-itm & liaised directly with key stakeholders at Taronga Zoo including the Managing Director & CEO, the General Manager Guest Services & Commercial Operations & the Operations Manager. - I took on the role of relief General Manager – Operations for the Skyrail-itm operation in Hong Kong, Ngong Ping 360 in 2007. This is one of the world’s largest cableways & the operations division coprised more than 75 staff.- Regularly dealing with many important stakeholders including major international manufactures such as Leitner Poma of America, a variety of domestic & international suppliers & representatives of emergency evacuation teams in particular the Rescue Branch of the NSW Fire Brigade.- Risk management achievements:• Instigated & implemented new Sky Safari documentation system based on ISO 9001 standards with external auditing & measurable KPI’s.• Effectively managing emergency evacuations drills & procedures.• Developed & implemented risk management training for staff which I incorporated into the customer service training systems.

- Directly and indirectly managed 25 staff engaged in tourism industry liaison, tourism and visitor impact research, community education and interpretation programs for all Parks managed by Parks Victoria, including negotiations with indigenous communities:- Managed Victoria’s major tourism infrastructure development communications such as The Twelve Apostles Centre and the Great Ocean Walk.- Directly managed the Victorian Trails Coordinating Committee including the development of the ‘Victorian Trails Strategy 2001- 2004 (www.parkweb.vic.gov.au).- Developed and implemented the ‘2002–2006 Tour Operator License Improvement Program’, and worked with Small Business Victoria to assist Tourism Operators in business management practices, resulting in:- Restructured and streamlined Tour Operator Licensing system for the State’s 500+ Tour Operators licensed to operate on public land- Initiated the adoption of Tourism Operators Accreditation Programs,- Facilitated Public Liability Insurance support by the Government Insurance Office (2001-02).- Represented Parks Victoria on the Co-operative Research Centre, (CRC), Sustainable Tourism Board and Member of the national committee evaluating all natural and heritage research bids.- Developed and implemented an Information, Interpretation and Education staff training program jointly with Monash University and University of Idaho, U.S.A.

- Managed the development of several tourism strategies for the region such as; The Great Ocean Road Backpacker Strategy & the Great Ocean Road Eco-Tourism Strategy.- Successfully submitted an application for federal funding for the Great Ocean Road Information Centre located in Geelong - $1.5 million.- Key participant in lobbying Hazelton Airlines to initiate the development of Avalon Airport as a commercial passenger airport in 1994-95, now serviced by Jetstar.

- Planned & managed accommodation, activities & transport for more than 100 clients a week.- Resolved conflicts & addressed complaints of clients &/or stakeholders.- Planned & conducted tours of the area in consultation with local stakeholders.- Managed the resort’s budget, the selection & the training of key staff.- Negotiated with potential business partners to develop new & innovative activity programs.- Assisted in the development of a strategic plan for future improvement of the operation.
