Russell Powell joined ERM after a stint running an independent consultancy. Prior to this he was the Corporate Operations Integrity Manager for China Light and Power (CAPCO), an Exxon Mobil Affiliate in Hong Kong; a Senior Consultant for Safety Projects International (Canada); Safety Risk Management for Eskom (South Africa) and has worked within the Trade Union movement. Russell is an Occupational Health and Safety expert with considerable experience globally. Russell has 40 years of experience in Occupational Health and Hygiene and Occupational Safety He has experience and a proven track record at management level (including Exxon) as well as consulting,. Russell has been involved in a number of Occupational Health and Hygiene and Safety Due Diligence projects. He is currently the ERM lead and subject matter expert for ERM in EMEA.. He has been involved in coaching, mentoring and skills transfer to client staff as well as ERM employees, enabling them to upskill their capability through the application of advanced adult learning principles. Russell has been involved in a number of Occupational Health and Hygiene projects where special hazards are understood within the context of use and effective control programmes implemented. He has also participated in audit processes and has performed the role of the Occupational Health and Hygiene specialist or has audited Occupational Health and Safety.
